In spite of the fact that slavery is illegal today in every part of the world, slavery still exists in virtually every country. Including the United States. During the days of the Trans-Atlantic slave trade, slaves were very expensive. In today's money, a slave could cost $40,000.
But slaves today are bought and sold illegally for less then $100 average. They are considered "disposable" people and can be found in most major industries from fabric weaving, to chocolate production to shoe sewing.
